Listen and Best

This technology is moving ahead rapidly. The BEST System development and upgrades are occurring regularly. BEST System technology has a pedigree of 15 years in this field of medicine and is the progeny of three market leaders – the BEST System, LISTEN System and the Omega Acubase System. This combined product development team is committed to making the technology one of the mainstays of the health environment for this century. More than two thousand Systems are in use throughout the world.

Development

1952 EDS concept developed by Dr Voll
1979 Dermatron - first CEDS - Clark
1980 Vega - Schimmel
1984 Interro - Clark
1991 LISTEN System – Clark

1993 Omega Acubase - Cook
1997 Omega Acubase acquired by BioMeridian
1998 BEST System announced
1999 BEST CE version introduced
2002 BEST Professional version introduced

In the 1950s Doctor Reinhold Voll, a German biophysicist, discovered a way to measure the energy level of bio points (the life-energy points used in Acupuncture) with an electrical device. Through these measurements he could:
Screen the energy levels of the organs in the body
Identify toxic substances, food intolerances and microbes that affect the body’s functioning
Screen the vitamin and mineral profile

More importantly, he also discovered that through these same acupuncture bio points, the effects of toxic chemicals and microbes could be minimised and corrective remedies could be identified.

The major obstacle to putting Voll’s work into practice was the screening method. The technique was complicated and cumbersome, which meant it was too difficult and time consuming for practitioners to use in a practical and efficient way. They had to acquire and handle large numbers of phials, containing the substances to be tested, if they were to carry out truly effective screenings.

For more than 16 years James Clark, in the US, worked at perfecting a computer system capable of taking these measurements quickly, simply and accurately. He achieved, his goal with the introduction of the LISTEN System in 1991. The substances to be tested (numbering 18,000) are programmed into the system. A report, generated after each screening, shows every substance tested and the results it also provides the client with a detailed personal analysis to study at leisure, instead of a few scribbled practitioner’s notes. In 1997 BioMeridian Inc. acquired Biosource Inc, the original developer of the LISTEN System, and made a number of significant improvements. These improvements were incorporated into the BEST System which was launched in 1998. In 2002 BioMeridian introduced the BEST-Professional with many enhancements over the BEST system including the test database being increased from 30,000 to 40,000 items.

Research

Working with minute electrical charges in the body has long been incorporated in Eastern complementary medicine as a way of determining the state of a patient’s health. But, such techniques have often lacked clear Western descriptions, which is one of the reasons why they have taken so long to be recognised.

Orthodox medicine is the only major medical system which does not recognise any form of biological energy. Therefore, it is not surprising that research comparing the two fields is less than extensive. However, recent studies show a significant level of agreement between electro-acupoint measurements and conventional screening methods such as X-rays. NutriVital has copies of many of these papers.
